Tasmania 2025

The edge of the world.

Tasmania (Lutruwita) is a place where the world feels pared back. Ancient rainforests, rugged mountains, and windswept coastlines exist much as they always have, shaped slowly by time and weather. Wildlife moves freely, light shifts gently across open plains, and distances feel deliberately unhurried.

Underlying it all is a deep Indigenous presence. The island is the ancestral land of the Palawa people, whose connection to Country spans tens of thousands of years. This relationship with land, sea, and sky remains embedded in place names, stories, and living culture, grounding Tasmania in a sense of continuity, resilience, and respect for nature that still shapes the island today.
